An enemy's type in MARDEK is used to categorize enemies. It is used in the initiative order in the in-battle interface.

Aberration[]
ABERRATION-type enemies are unusual and grotesque, and often feature eyeballs.
Aerial[]
AERIAL-type enemies consist of birds and other flying animals like bats. They do not share a similar element, however they are all weak to Air and resistant against Earth, because they can fly.
Annunaki[]
ANNUNAKI-type enemies consist of the Annunaki, an advanced and plot-important race. All members fought in-game so far have been part of the Governance de Magi.
Beast[]
BEAST-type enemies are mostly mammals, but also include some other creatures such as flightless birds and dinosaurs.
Construct[]
CONSTRUCT-type enemies are are artificial machines created by Humans, Annunaki, or Manta.
Crystal[]
CRYSTAL-type enemies are magical, levitating gemstones. They only use Gemsplosion.
Demon[]
DEMON-type enemies are large, demonic entities.
Dragon[]
DRAGON-type enemies are large and powerful draconic creatures.
Droma[]
DROMA-type enemies are Droma, a slave race to the Annunaki.
Elemental[]
ELEMENTAL-type enemies all have a corresponding element which they attack with.
Fey[]
FEY-type enemies are fairies, seemingly made up of a glowing ball with wings.
Figment[]
FIGMENT-type enemies are entities created by the thoughts of mortals. They are found only in the Dreamrealm.
Goblinoid[]
GOBLINOID-type enemies are strange creatures with mushroom caps, and large noses and ears.

GUARDIAN-type enemies are the unique guardians of the Elemental Crystals on Belfan.
Human[]
HUMAN-type enemies are Humans, the main sentient race of life on Belfan.

ICHTHYD-type enemies are fish-like creatures.

ILLUSION-type enemies are summoned by magic.
Insect[]
INSECT-type enemies are various arthropods.
Magical Beast[]
MAGICAL BEAST-type enemies are classical mythical creatures.
Ooze[]
OOZE-type enemies are simple blobs.
Plantoid[]
PLANTOID-type enemies are various plant-like creatures.
Reptilian[]
REPTILIAN-type enemies are various reptile- and amphibian-like animal and humanoid creatures.
Reptoid[]
REPTOID-type enemies are Reptoids, another sentient species of Belfan.
Spirit[]
SPIRIT-type enemies are incorporeal undead, as well as other ectoplasmic entities.
Undead[]
UNDEAD-type enemies are corporeal undead. They are generally Earth or Dark-elemental (depending on the magic that animated them). All of them are weak against Fire and Light-elemental attacks.
Notably, they take damage from moves like Heal or items like PhoenixDown and Potions, regardless of their elemental weaknesses or resistances.
