The magical crystal on its tail is able to signficantly dampen magical damage. Its solid carapace is nothing to sneeze at, either.Bestiary description
Chrysophages have tall, segmented brown bodies topped with a large purple crystal. At the base of their body, they have six segmented legs and a small fanged mouth.
Wild Chrysophages can not be found anywhere, but one can be battled in a scripted encounter:
- Trainer: The Magnificent Randi (Sunset Pass)
- Level: 6
- Gender: Female
- Tier 1 Skills: Bewilder, Headache, Mystic Shell, Solid Shell
- Stat Boosts: POWER+2, AGILITY+1
Chrysophages have high SPIRIT and low POWER. They are weak to Fire and Air attacks.
Chrysophages have high SPIRIT but low POWER. Their VITALITY and AGILITY are average for an evolved monster.
Chrysophages are weak to Fire and Air but resist Fig and the moral elements.
As an unobtainable monster, Chrysophages cannot be observed using many of the skills in their skill pool. A Chrysophage can theoretically use Earth, Dark and Fig-elemental attacks and be able to increase its SPIRIT, give itself a shield or aura, and lower the SPIRIT of its foes, poison, confuse or paralyse them or cause them to sleep or flinch. Interestingly, the Chrysophage that can be fought uses Solid Shell and Mystic Shell as Tier 1 skills, when they're actually found in its Tier 2 skill pool.

Obtaining and Evolution
Chrysophages cannot be obtained, as there is no way to collect their prevolution, Psytick. The method of evolution is therefore also unknown.
- Its name is a combination of chrysoprase, a gemstone, and bacteriophage, a virus that preys on bacteria.
