Aside from that, you should be fine with a basic understanding on grammar and the English language. If you want more concrete advice though, most biggish wikis have a "Manual of Style" or "Style Guide". In particular, Wikipedia's guide is huge, incredibly detailed, and just a little bit intimidating.

Do I need to know Wikipedia's? Or just this wiki's?

What if I don't know the differences from memory? I'm 'murican, and a 11,000 word essay on spelling differences seems a bit excessive.

Also, what's this "spoiler policy" thing? It says it's a "list of rules", but it just has 5 words that I don't understand. The spoiler policy is no spoilers? It's kind of confusing.

Yeah, that'd probably work. Even I remember looking at it and thinking it was a bit ambiguous. The first time I saw it was on Moric's page, so the weird latin text made me think it was some kind of in-joke.

Any guidelines for replacing the placeholder text? I'm kind of a novice when it comes to wikis, so I want to make sure I don't break everything. (Or mess up the wording or something, I don't know. I see people editing wording a LOT on wikis, so I assume there's a very specific way to do it.)

I've been having a bit of a obsession with MARDEK recently, so I'd love to try to help if I can!

Oh, really? Someone already asked? I swear I clicked on every thread to see if someone else asked. Thanks for answering, though! So those are just put there so someone can replace it if they have something better? Like an appearance description on a page that lacks one? Also, if you need a more obvious replacement, you could just use the same thing, but instead, start it with This is a placeholder. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet,

Just a suggestion, though. I mean do whatever you feel works.

Edit: Actually, secondary suggestion, if you want to use either. You could change the template to make it into a link to the "Pages with dummy text" category. Maybe that way people could figure it out by clicking on it.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet?

I don't know if this wiki is still active, but I'm new here, (I just rediscovered MARDEK) and I keep seeing this long string of red text everywhere, and I have literally no idea why. Is it some vandalism thing? Because it appears to be replacing some pretty important stuff.
